about

Composed with bass player Olie Brice this piece comes from music wriiten for the aforementioned Stirbitch film, which is celebration of the ancient fair founded by a Leper Chapel on Stourbridge Common, at the edge of Cambridge. Stirbitch was an old name for Stourbridge and at one time it was reputedly the largest fair in Europe. It was documented by Pepys and the London Spy Ned Ward who detailed its less salubrious aspects in the area jnown as The Dunnery. It formed the basis of Vanity Fair in Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress and was supposedly where Isaac Newton purchased his scientific instruments.
