about

This song features the voice of Basil Bunting reading from his poem 'Briggflatts. The stonemason mentioned is the father of Penny Greenbank with whom Bunting had a relationship when he spent childhood summers staying with a friend near Sedbergh in Cumbria, The Greenbank family worshipped at the Quaker Meeting House called Brigflatts which lived they opposite. Bunting himself now lies buried there.
