The spoken word introduction is the voice of Albert Hupton of Brooke in Norfolk, as recorded by writer George Ewart Evans for his book Horsepower And Magic in January of 1977 when Hupton was eighty eight years old. Both the recording of Albert Hupton and the recording of Vashti Vincent used in The Bold Grenadier are availabkle to listen to in their entirity at the website of the British Library Sound Archive.
